Why follow up
No reply rarely means no. Most of the time, your email arrived at the wrong moment and was forgotten. A polite follow-up reminds them of your message without forcing anything, and many replies come after a follow-up.
The right rhythm
- First follow-up: 3 to 5 working days after your first email.
- Second (and last) follow-up: one week later.
- Then you stop. You can try again in a few months with a new idea.
Reply in the same email thread as your first message: the person sees all the context at a glance.
First follow-up template
Hello, I’m bringing my message from last week back to the top of your inbox, in case it slipped through. Could videos for your product pages be useful to you at the moment? Have a great day, Camille
Last follow-up template
Hello, I don’t want to clutter your inbox: this is my last message on the subject. If it becomes relevant later, you can reply here at any time. All the best! Camille
This last message often gets a reply, even a negative one, which saves you from staying in doubt.
Never forget a follow-up again
The hardest part is remembering to follow up at the right time when you reach out to several companies a day. In Prospera, you track each company (to contact, contacted, replied, client) and, on the Pro plan, follow-ups are prepared for you at the right time.
